Read MoreUsually I’m telling you to race for the oceans. Today I’m telling you to bid for the oceans.
As you may have heard by now, Christie’s, along with NBC Universal, Barneys New York, and Charitybuzz, has put together a star-studded auction called “A Bid to Save the Earth” for the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day, April 22.
The auction will benefit four environmental non-profits: Oceana, Natural Resources Defense Council, Conservation International, and Central Park Conservancy. In addition to a live auction at Christie’s on Earth Day, there will be an online silent auction at www.charitybuzz.com from April 8 – May 6.
There are some truly one-of-a-kind auction items, including a private swimming clinic with — you guessed it — yours truly. In addition to the swim lesson with moi, where I’ll show you how to backstroke like an Olympian, you’ll get 2 spots in this year’s Race for the Oceans Race and event dinner in Newport Beach, California (the date is TBD —mostly likely late August). The event is in its third year, and it just keeps getting better — You don’t want to miss it.
So get your online bidding fingers ready and start getting in shape for the big race!

“On race day I like to eat a big bowl of oatmeal with some fruit on top,” Aaron said. “The oatmeal sticks with you, but isn’t too heavy, and the fruit adds some flavor and nutrition.”
Hydration is also an important factor for athletes on the day of competition.
“Making sure you’re getting fluids is important,” Aaron said.
“It helps with lactic acid buildup and is crucial to your energy level. That’s why I work with a company like PureSport. It’s a drink that’s really worked for me.”
Race For The Oceans is coming up in less than three weeks and I’m really excited for it. This is the second year of the event, and we’ve really setup a great weekend this year. Registration is still open (Register Here) – don’t miss out on this great event. Events include an All Ages Clinic, Junior Swim, and a 1K and 5K Challenge. I’ll be there all weekend so I hope to see you there!
